Drugs package intercepted at LBC Corrales Ext.

ANTI-NARCOTICS agents have intercepted a package containing illegal drugs consigned to a killed "nanlaban" drug suspect in Malaybalay City, through a courier firm LBC Express at Corrales Extension, Cagayan de Oro City, Tuesday, November 20.

Agent Ben Calibre of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Northern Mindanao said the package came from a certain Amy Marcos in Caloocan City, Metro Manila and was intended to Sainoding Palao of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

He said the two big sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, known as shabu, weighing more than 10 grams and worth around P80,000 were concealed inside a CCTV case and placed in box. It arrived at the LBC main branch in the city on Monday.

But, Palao was killed by the police anti-drug operatives before it could pick up the package last Monday.

Calibre said Palao was a target-listed drug personality. He was arrested last year for a drug case but was recently released from detention after availing the government's plea bargaining agreement.

However, he was monitored to have been engaging still in the illegal drug activity, prompting the authorities to conduct anti-illegal drug operation.

"Nag-conduct ang other law enforcement og drug operation unya nisukol man siya mao tong napatay siya," Calibre said.

Calibre also said prior to the inspection, there was already an information that a package containing illegal drugs will arrive in the city through the said courier firm.

"Nag corroborate ang information nga niabot together with other law enforcement groups maong nagpositive atong pag-inpsect sa package," Calibre said.

"Indication ni siya nga ang mga drug personalities galisod na og kuha sa region siguro kay wala na silay contact busa didto sila sa layo gakuha unya ipaagi lang dayon og courier services," he added.

Calibre said they already coordinated the incident with their counterparts in the national headquarters to locate and verify the identity of the sender and possibly conduct anti-illegal drug operation.
