AN ALLEGED crime syndicate leader was arrested in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police said.
Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Rene Asimudin Sahibol, 43, was nabbed after police served a warrant of arrest around 8 p.m. Monday in Sawa village, Mabuhay town, this province.
Galvez said Sahibol is listed as the Top 5 Most Wanter Person in Olutanga and has pending warrant of arrest for the crime of attempted homicide with recommended bail of P12,000.
She said the suspect is allegedly the leader of Rene Sahibol Criminal Gang which was involved in extortion activities operating in the area of Olutanga Island and neighboring municipalities.
The suspect was placed under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, she added. (SunStar Philippines)
