A FRATERNAL organization distributed one million pencils and toothbrushes in selected public schools in Davao City as part of the celebration of its 100th year.

“Yesterday, we have conducted our project, Isang Milyong Lapis at Sipilyo, with book donations in public schools somewhere in Tugbok and Mulig districts,” Masonic District Region 11 District deputy grand master Glen Polinar said Monday, November 19.

“The city mayor of Davao, Sara Duterte-Carpio, recently declared this year, 2018, as the centennial year of Freemasonry in Davao as it recognized the contribution of the organization in the city as it conducts its charitable activities,” he added.

The Freemasonry in Davao has been doing charitable activities and has been supporting public schools in the city through donations and other activities.

“Our regular activity is the participation in the Brigada Eskwela, all Lodges have to sponsor to support the public schools,” Polinar said, adding that aside from this activity, they are also actively participating in feeding campaigns and coastal clean-ups.

Polinar said that the organization also focused on the children’s ward at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) where at least 500 patients became their beneficiaries.
