For the love of chicken in 7-Eleven

WHEREVER you look at, there is always a fried chicken stall or two in a specific street here in the Philippines. For some reason, the Filipinos had been known for their fondness of the crispy chicken skin over the juicy and well-cooked chicken meat. Proof of this is the presence of fried chicken in our fast food chains, in our local carenderia, and now in our go-to convenience store 7-Eleven.

For the first time, 7-Eleven launches their Crunch Time fried chicken and chicken nuggets here in Mindanao. With the products already established and loved in Luzon, they found it high time to bring it south to Mindanao. Last October 6, the products were launched in the first 20 stores in Davao City followed by another 24 branches in the city completing the 44 7-Eleven branches in Davao City.

Tagged as bigger, crunchier, juicier, and more affordable than their fast food chain fried chicken and chicken nuggets counterparts, these new additions to the 7-Eleven meals are expected to entice more customers because of the assurance of quality and taste. The chicken nuggets and fried chickens are kept in warmers by the counter keeping it warm up to the time of serving it to the customers.

The size and the taste of their fried chicken in particular can indeed parallel to that of the fried chicken available in the known fast food chains. With the juiciness of the meat and the crispiness of the skin, one might be surprised that this can be bought from a convenience store.

Kitchen operations field consultant Aldin Lorenzo said with these new products recently launched in Davao City branches, they are trying to stay true to their commitment of convenience for the customers. As the freshly-cooked and always-warm chicken nuggets and fried chickens are readily available, the customers craving for chicken will no longer have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to be ready and be served to them.

The scrumptious but affordable meal of one-piece chicken with 175 grams of rice can be bought for only P69. The two-piece fried chicken, on the other hand, is available for P115. Chicken nuggets are served in 4 pieces with barbecue sauce for P45 ala carte. Should one wish to eat it with rice, the meal is available for P60.

These Crunch Time products are targeted to also be available next year in Cagayan de Oro, General Santos City, Iligan City, and Davao del Norte.
