Cordillera police undergo skills training

THE Police Regional Office Cordillera successively completed nine trainings and seminars in two weeks to develop and improve the performance and skills of every police personnel through an organized, innovative, and well-focused program.

Through the Regional Human Resource Development Division (RHRDD), 11 training courses and seminars were conducted this month and participated by 452 personnel assigned region wide.

The training courses and seminars were Training for Summary Hearing Officer; Patrol Officers Basic Course (POBC), Criminal Investigation Course (CIC), Specialized Course for WCPD Officers, Next Generation Investigation Solution (NGIS), Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) Orientation, Opening of Police Correspondence and Technical Writing Training, Police Investigation Officers Basic Course, Crime Scene First Responders Workshop, and Basic Handling Proficiency and maintenance of 5.56 mm Basic Assault Firearm (EMTAN).

Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, PRO Cordillera regional director, said the seminar aims to boost the knowledge and skills of the police personnel and equip them with the proper approach in the different fields of operation which is valuable to police officers as they perform their duties.

Nana added the trainings and seminars are instruments of change, with the objective of developing PROCOR personnel to bring them to a desired level of efficiency, training and learning, which are continuous processes, with and the real training taking place at the work place where knowledge is challenged with actual situations.

In line with the certification of the PROCOR Regional Training Action Plan by the PNP National Headquarters, 31 training courses programmed for 2018 will be conducted before the year ends.
