REIGNING men’s division titleholder Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma and the University of San Carlos (USC) look to close out the series in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) men’s and women’s volleyball finals with a win on Saturday, Nov. 24, at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Gym.

SWU aims to snag back-to-back titles with a victory against University of the Visayas (UV) in Game 2 at 1:30 p.m.

SWU totally outclassed UV after a three-set sweep, 26-24, 26-24, 25-21, in Game 1. UV had no answer for SWU’s fluid offense that’s anchored on the playmaking skills of setter Mark Petancio.

Petancio was key in SWU’s run at the title last year, when he was named MVP. SWU beat University of San Jose-Recoletos in the men’s championships last year.

USC, on the other hand, is also looking to close the series against last year’s runner-up USJ-R.

USC beat USJ-R, 25-22, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19, in Game 1 of the women’s division finals. EKA
