Davao Region virtual planning tool set next year

THE first ever Davao region virtual planning tool is slated to be launched next year to help future investors locate business relations in the city.

Palafox Associates urban planner communications manager Mikey Ramos of Palafox Architectures said the city planning tool is a visual platform like a map which provides, among others, numerical data from the local government units (LGUs) of Davao region.

He said the data on the land-use plan is also part in the planning tool in order to map out future developments in Davao region.

Ramos added future investors can assess the value of properties in terms of land-use.

“For example, if you do not know the value of a certain property, you can just type the address, and you will see the necessary details you’ll be looking for,” Ramos said, adding that the planning tool will be open for public.

He said even those concerned individuals who wish to know statuses of projects in certain cities can also have access to necessary information.

“In short, the tool can help future investors in making better business decisions,” Ramos said.

The tool also gives necessary information on hazard and safety zones.

“This tool is not meant to make the decision for you. This tool will help you provide and relay information like population, transportation routes, hazard, and safety zones,” Ramos said.

The planning tool covers information relating to the following cities and municipalities in Davao region: Digos City, Sta. Cruz, Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos), Davao City, Panabo City, Carmen, Maco, and Tagum City.

Ramos added even the academe can use the city planning tool in generating more ideas on how to improve current trends of urban planning as bases for students in their undergraduate studies.
