DAVAO City officials and some known personalities visited Big Bad Wolf (BBW) Book Sale at The Tent, Azuela Cove during Thursday's VIP day.

Davao City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-Ag, reading the statement of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio Thursday, November 22, said, “Allow me to commend the men and women behind Big Bad Wolf for finally bringing this much-awaited book sale to Davao City.”

“This initiative is a noble cause, allowing us to enrich our minds and to end poverty and transform lives at the same time, for I understand that part of the proceeds from this sale will fund Gawad Kalinga’s outreach programs,” he added.

During the VIP day, Al-ag shopped with his wife, Cherry Faye Al-ag. While some councilors also bought books with their families.

“It was a wonderful experience, definitely Book Heaven for bookworms. The very affordable prices of the books will encourage many more Dabawenyo readers add to their own collection of books,” Davao City Councilor Mary Joselle Villafuerte said Friday, adding that the choices in the history section was her favorite.

At around 8 p.m., Duterte-Carpio visited the BBW with son Mateo Lucas (Stingray) and her mother Elizabeth Zimmerman and bought a cart-full of books.

The famed artist from Davao, Ray Mudjahid Ponce Millan better also known as Kublai Millan also visited the said Book Sale and bought two carts of books, mostly art-related.

The said event was officiated by Duterte-Carpio, Al-ag, Second District Representative Mylene Albano, BBW Book Sale founder Andrew Yap and Gawad Kalinga Executive Director Luis Oquiña.

The Book Sale is free admission and will run open 24 hours everyday from November 23 to December 2.
