SUNSTAR Davao social media strategist Ace June Rell Perez has been chosen as one of the delegates in this year's Jenesys Youth Exchange for Media Industry program.
He is set to travel to Tokyo, Japan for the program which will be held from November 27 to December 4, 2018.
Perez is the only one in Davao Region selected by the National Youth Commission among the 15 delegates.
“I feel honored to be chosen as one of the few youth media delegates to represent our country in Tokyo, Japan. I am excited to learn Japan's economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics and diplomatic relations. But what excites me more is the opportunity to tell our stories from the Philippines, especially Mindanao to the Japanese community,” Perez said.
Two other Mindanaoans - Mary Louise Omelio, media educator of Mindanao State University-Marawi and Oliver Ross Rivera who works at the Philippine Information Agency-Soccsksargen, were also among those who were chosen.
Reportedly, more than a hundred youths usually apply in the program.
Jenesys Youth Exchange for Media Industry program is a partnership between the National Youth Commission and the Japan International Cooperation Center and Embassy of Japan.
