3 nabbed for guns, ammo in raid

THREE persons were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in separate operations in Negros Occidental on November 22.

In Victorias City, Felix Ayco of Barangay 5 was arrested after police raided his house by virtue of a search warrant.

Police seized from his house an improvised homemade 12 gauge shotgun, homemade .357 caliber, homemade .22 caliber, an improvised 22 rifle, and assorted live ammunition.

Chief Inspector Eduardo Corpuz, city police chief, said they conducted the search after they received reports about the suspect's alleged illegal discharge of firearm in the area.

In Pontevedra town, Romeo Gatoteo, 53, of Barangay Cambarus was arrested also by virtue of a search warrant.

The operation resulted to the confiscation of a homemade .357 caliber revolver, homemade 12 gauge shotgun, and nine live ammunition of 12 gauge shotgun.

In a separate operation, Reynaldo Liquegan, 51, of Barangay Cambarus was also arrested after police raided his house through a search warrant, which led to the recovery of a homemade .38 caliber revolver, and five live ammunition of the said firearm. (GYM)
