THE chess wizards will compete for the final two slots for the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) Grand Finals today, Nov. 25, at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons’ Galleria Cebu.
The final monthly qualifying tournament will select the November and December winners who will join the other 10 qualifiers in the Cepca grand finals slated next month.
Cepca’s Jun Olis said the top two players will be named the November and December monthly winners and will complete the cast of Cepca’s Grand Finals.
The players who made the grand finals are Eduardo Dela Torre (January), Mario Bustillo (February), Rogelio Enriquez Jr. (March), Joselito Loques (April), Zilverstein Torres (May), Salazar (June), Arnolito Cadiz (July), Neal Amores (August), Richard Ouano (September) and Percival Fiel (October).
National master Enriquez, a chess coach for University of San Jose-Recoletos, is the Cepca defending grand champion. RSC
