A new Jolina Magdangal this 2010

AN EDGIER and bolder Jolina Magdangal braved the stage Sunday afternoon as she was re-launched as the latest multi-media artist.

Jolina, who was sporting a new look, promises big changes this year in terms of her looks and career matters.

“Ngayong 2010 mas maraming exciting na mangyayari sa makikita nilang Jolina sa TV. Maraming daring ang makikita nyo sa 2010,” she said.

One of the many surprises Jolina has in store for her supporters is a movie this year. The singer said she believes the time has come and she's ready to take on a new role.

With re-inventing her looks and offering something new to her public, negative issues were thrown at her. The latest was the reported feud between her and her father, then manager, Jun Magdangal.

In a television interview with Jolina, the singer/actress cleared all rumors surfacing the showbiz circle.

According to Jolina, her father was replaced as her manager because he needs to focus his attention to the upcoming business they are planning to build in Tagaytay.

“Yung pagpapalit ng manager eh mutual decision ng buong family. Kasi may bubuksan kaming business sa Tagaytay eh na restaurant na hindi sya basta basta, kailangan syang tutukan ang naisip ni daddy na kailangan nyang tutukan yun and hindi mo naman magagawa ng sabay,” she said.

Her father in a separate interview said that leaving Jolina as a talent was a bitter sweet emotion for him.

“May kurot but for the sake of her career and for the sake of our business it’s the best decision I've ever made,” Jun said.

He added that their relationship as father-daughter is stronger than ever because he can now concentrate on her as a father and not as a manager.

Jolina clarified that there was no tension when she went to her dad and told him of the new career path she's going to take.

“Sobrang thankful ako na sinuportahan nya din yung decision ko na magpalit na tayo ng manager and walang ibang sabihin yun,” she said.

Jolina is now being managed by Perry Lansigan who also manages Dingdong Dantes, Geoff Eigenmann, Angelika dela Cruz and recently Be Bench winner Carlo Guevarra.

“Napakagaling nyang manager, napaka daming bagong ideas. kung baga nag swak yung mga gusto naming gawin, ang gaganda ng mga plans nya for 2010,” she said of Perry.

Though being managed by Perry, the actress is still very thankful for all the help and support her father showed her through the years.

“Lahat ng natutunan kong values sa family at sa showbiz, na kahit na anong sabihin nila eh dapat maging professional ka, natutunan ko lahat yun kay Daddy eh,” Jolina said.

In line with seeing a new Jolina on TV, the singer/actress also launched her newest magazine called "Jolie," which will feature places, food, fashion, and must-haves of her generation.

Jolie will be released quarterly in all bookstores nationwide. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
