A HIGH-VALUE target, who is a drug surrenderer, and escaped the drug bust operation at Barangay 3 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental two weeks ago was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants in the said village on November 23.
The victim was identified as Joseph Fedrequilan, 39, of the said village.
Investigation showed that Fedrequilan was standing at H.C. Rigor Street in the said village when the assailants fired at him.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he later died.
City Police Chief Superintendent D'Artagnan Katalbas Jr., said they are eyeing failed illegal drug transaction as the motive behind the killing.
Police conducted a drug bust against Fedrequilan in the said village on November 10.
The police recovered about 50 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P600,000, and drug paraphernalia. Fedrequilan, however, managed to escape during the operation.
Katalbas said they already have a lead on the perpetrators but the investigation is ongoing. (GYM)
