AFTER lifting the Philippine flag on the international stage, Team Lakay will be given another heroes parade slated later this week.

The city government of Baguio is set to roll out the red carpet for the best mixed martial arts gym in the country after Eduard Folayang recently re- captured the lightweight world title on Friday, November 23, at the Mall of Asia Arena against Singaporean Amir Khan.

Folayang dominated Khan in a five round encounter and sealed the victory with a clear-cut unanimous decision, and added a fourth One Championship world title to his gym’s trophy cabinet.

Khan had his moments throughout the bout. He utilized his reach well and landed some solid punches, but the most telling moments came from Folayang. He built his rhythm and grew stronger as the contest progressed.

Folayang’s confidence soared as he landed hard spinning back fists and elbows, as well as gravity-defying takedowns, leaving his younger foe overwhelmed and without an answer.

The parade, which is being eyed on December 1 along the major thoroughfares of the city will include bantamweight world champion Kevin Belingon, flyweight king Geje Eustaquio and strawweight titlist Joshua Pacio.

Team Lakay’s Stephen Loman, who fights in Brave Combat Federation and is the current world bantamweight champion in the promotion is expected to join the parade.
