116 PWDs get PhilHealth cards

ANGELES CITY — Some 116 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) received Philippine Health Insurance (Philhealth) cards and relief goods from Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno.

This was during the flag raising rite on Monday at the City Hall grounds in Barangay Pulung Maragul here.

The recipients came from Barangays Amsic, Balibago, Lourdes Sur East, Capaya, Cutcut, Pampang, Lourdes Northwest, Malabanas, Margot, Pulungbulu, Pulung Cacutud, Sto. Cristo, Sapalibutad, San Nicolas, Sta. Teresita, Sta. Trinidad, Sto. Domingo, Salapungan, Virgen Delos Remedios, Tabun, and San Jose.

Nepomuceno said the distribution of PhilHealth cards was part of the City Government’s health program.

He said that PWDs need health assistance to be able to avail of much needed health services.

He said PWDs with Philhealth cards can now avail of in-patient benefits from accredited hospitals and non-hospital facilities as well as outpatient benefits such as ambulatory, day surgeries, dialysis and cancer treatment like chemotherapy and radiotherapy, eye cataract extraction, coverage until the fourth normal delivery, newborn care package, and TB treatment.

“We want our PWDs to have that sense of security when it comes to their health,” Nepomuceno said.

Cris Capulong, president of Kapisanan ng may Kapansanan Sa Angeles (Kamasa), who was present during the distribution activity, conveyed the gratitude of PWD beneficiaries to Nepomuceno.

He said he expects the City Government to expand its distribution to be able to cater to other PWDs in the city.
