SUSPECTED drug pusher John Angel Bantilo allegedly sold “shabu” on social media platform Facebook, offering discounts to entice users.

“Who wants to buy shabu for P250 for two? We’re on sale as it is a slow day,” one of his posts read in Cebuano.

The 21-year-old suspect, however, caught the attention of the police, who arrested him in a drug bust in Visitacion St., Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. He yielded three grams of “shabu” worth P35,400.

Bantilo was reportedly known for selling drugs through his Facebook account “John Wall,” the name of a Washington Wizards’ basketball player. He also allegedly posted that he could not continue living without shabu and he begged his friends to support him.

For his part, the suspect admitted he is a junkie but he denied using Facebook in trading drugs, saying his account had been hacked by his estranged girlfriend. He also accused the police of planting the evidence on him.

He said he tried to locate his former lover and ask her to delete her damaging posts, but the police caught up with him first.

Chief Insp. Eduardo Sanchez, Abellana Police Station commander, said they received a report about Bantilo’s illegal activity through “Itug-an ni CD,” an anti-criminality hotline of Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma.

A three-week surveillance on Bantilo confirmed the report. The suspect’s contact possibly comes from the city jail, where his older brother is detained for illegal drug cases, according to Sanchez.

Thirty minutes later, Joseph Rosales Ybañez, 33, yielded P141,600 worth of “shabu” after he was arrested by Pardo Police Station in Sitio Colo, Barangay Inayawan.

Suspects will be facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (from AYB of SuperBalita Cebu)
