MOA signed for Tamugan Watershed rehabilitation

APO Agua Infrastructura Inc., an Aboitiz company, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Tuesday, November 27, in rehabilitating the Tamugan Watershed.

Davao City Water District (DCWD) president engineer Edwin Regalado said the agreement can ensure the safety and environmental sustainability of the watershed in securing water supply for Davao City.

“This project is envisioning in creating a more sustainable source for everyone,” Regalado said on Monday, November 26, during the signing of the MOA for the Adopt-a-Site project in Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District.

Regalado added this can also help create a better generation of Dabawenyos with a healthy water source.

Apo Agua general manager Cirilo Almario III said the company is committed in creating more project ventures with DCWD in protecting the environment, as this is part of their vision in strengthening development with environment preservation at the top of their priority.

As part of their Adopt-a-Site project with DCWD, Apo Agua would subsidize the rehabilitation of another 50-hectare property area in Mt. Dipolog.

The rehabilitation project estimates an annual cost of P12,000 per hectare and would last for about six years.
