CAGAYAN de Oro City (CDO) riders clinched five titles in the recently-concluded 18th Davao Horse Show and Competition at the Davao City Stables and Horse Park in Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

Kevin Pungtod topped the executive event of the men's obstacle and barrel races to lead CDO's charge in the final leg of the Philippine Horsemen’s Federation (PHF) Competition Circuit for 2018 hosted by the Davao Horse Club (DHC).

Pungtod outclassed Davao Horse Club's Melody Gonzales and Pablo Lopez, who placed second and third, respectively, in the obstacle race expert division. Pungtod also ruled the barrel race executive division over next two placers Romy Elusfa of Davao del Sur and Melody Gonzales of DHC.

CDO's Butyok Oclarit, Moses Pepito and Rhea Peleaz lorded over their rivals in their respective events. Oclarit bested CDO's Mac Mac and Roger Berbo for the obstacle race auxiliary crown while Pepite prevailed over Malaybalay's Doon Paano and CDO's Mark Fabello for the barrel race expert trophy.

Pelaez, for her part, subded Jule Lenn Tann of DHC and Alliah Dawn Paano of Malaybalay in barrel race ladies event.

Misamis Oriental Bukidnon Horsemen Association (Mobha) rider Allan "Juntors" Torres captured the obstacle race and barrel race intermediate titles while teammates Diego Mahistrado and Dave Mahistrado governed the obstacle race youth and barrel race novice events, respectively.

Host DHC, meanwhile, salvaged three crowns with Andy Tan claiming two in obstacle race royal and barrel race royal classes. He toppled Mobha's Robert Villamor and CDO's Charito Pimentel in obstacle race then sped past Mobha's Villamor and Philippe Legaspi in barrel race.

DHC's Inna Gonzales emerged champion in obstacle race ladies category.

Malaybalay Horsemen Association also shared a piece of glory with Raf Ryle Hernandez (obstacle race youth), Jason Estrada (obstacle race expert) and Jomar Baconguez (barrel race novice) taking home top honors.

Celsa Dial, on the other hand, bagged Asha's lone title in barrel race auxilary division.

The novice event was for beginners, intermediate for more advanced, expert for highly-skilled riders, ladies and royal for 45 years old and above.
