Talisay traffic body to announce Mananga closure details today

THE City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-Toda) will start putting up advisories and signs within the Mananga Bridge today, Nov. 29, on its closure Friday, Nov. 30.

From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, heavy vehicles such as those having six wheels and above are prohibited from using the southbound lane of the Mananga Bridge.

But it will be opened to heavy vehicles from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

CT-Toda chief Roger Villaver said they will deploy 125 enforcers within the Tabunok area to manage traffic upon the closure of the bridge.

While the northbound lane of the bridge will be closed for repairs, the s outhbound lane will be open to two-way traffic.

Villaver advised motorists from Southern Cebu or from Cebu City to use the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) along the South Road Properties (SRP) to avoid getting stuck in traffic on Natalio Bacalso Ave.

For vehicles from Barangay Lagtang in Talisay City and proceeding towards Southern Cebu, they exit towards Rabaya St., which leads to the CSCR.

The same route applies for vehicles going to Barangay Lagtang from the CSCR.

Villaver expects that the city to experience “slight traffic congestion” in Tabunok once DPWH starts its repairs on the bridge.

The DPWH 7 has assured that the rehabilitation of the Mananga Bridge’s northbound lane will take three to four months. (from HBL of SuperBalita Cebu)
