Bacolod police haul P180,000 worth of shabu

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized a total of P180,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from four drug personalities in two separate drug busts in Bacolod City in two days.

One of the arrested suspects was the sister of the late Western Visayas drug lord Ramy Poja.

Ruffa Poja, 26, was arrested in a drug bust in Purok Kawayanan in Barangay Banago on Wednesday, November 28.

The female suspect yielded 10 sachets of suspected shabu worth P120,000, an improvised tooter, lighter, and the P500 marked money.

On November 23, Christian Villar, 21, third cousin of the late high-value target, was arrested at the said village.

The police recovered 11 sachets of suspected shabu worth P500,200, the P1,000 marked money, and drug paraphernalias.

He is under the drugs watchlist of Police Station 3.

Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, acting BCPO director, said there are more drug personalities that are emerging but they still continue to validate the reports.

Ebreo said once a drug suspect or personality is arrested, somebody replaces their illegal activity.

“That's why there are still some who continue engaging in drugs, despite the police's action against them,” he added.

Meanwhile, on November 27, operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested street-level target Joeremy Diocades, 38, from Silay City; Beltran Sonorio, 54, from Barangay Bata; and Jet Mark Abello, 25, from Cadiz City.

The police seized eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P60,000, and the P1,000 marked money. (GYM)
