Several promotional tours for the upcoming grand finale of the Kapampangan Pop Song Festival 2018 will be conducted in various locations within Angeles and Clark from December 1 to 10.

Organized in partnership with the Angeles University Foundation Center for Culture and the Arts (AUF-CCA), the Kapampangan Pop Song Festival 2018 features original compositions from local artists that aim to promote and preserve the Kapampangan language in an artistic and creative form.

According to Alegria Cruz, ACTO Deputy for Heritage, Culture and Arts, “this is an avenue to discover the talents of our fellow Kapampangans in the field of songwriting.”

The grand finals will be held on December 11 at the AUF Sports and Cultural Complex.

Angeleños are up for a special treat as ACTO and Converge will be holding a flashmob on December 5 at Plaza Angel.

On Dececmber 6, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and ACTO will be staging “Performatura,” an event promoting a reading culture among Filipinos while showcasing intertextuality at work, this coming December 6 at the Jocson College grounds.

Meanwhile, the local government will be paying homage to Don Angel Pantaleon de Miranda as Angeles City celebrates its 189th Founding anniversary on December 8, 8:30am at the historic Holy Rosary Parish Church.

On the same day at 3:00 p.m., the city’s top performing arts groups will once again clad and dance in their angel-inspired costumes for the GraciAngeles: Festival of Angels to be held at The Park in Nepo Center.

Angeleños and tourists will flock to the Heritage District anew for the most anticipated Lubenas ning Pascu, a parade of Angeles City’s traditional heritage lanterns, happening at the Plaza Angel on December 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Also in December 14, government officials and workers here will be having their annual employees’ general assembly and awarding of most outstanding employees at the Angeles City Hall.

Furthermore, various artists’ organizations and performing arts groups are in to offer a night of musical and dance extravaganza for the Pasku king Angeles Christmas Concert Series at the Plaza Angel on December 15 at 6:00 p.m.

Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said that the whole point of coming up with these events is to feel the essence of Christmas while preserving and promoting Kapampangan culture and traditions.

“It is a great feeling seeing our fellow Angeleños celebrate this season with much love and joy. I hope that the spirit of joy, peace and prosperity will be greatly felt by our people especially in this season of sharing and giving,” said Pamintuan. (PR)
