600 books donated

THE Big Bad Wolf (BBW) collected around 600 books as donations from shoppers through the Red Readerhood area from November 23 to 28 at the Azuela Cove, Lanang, Davao City.

"Mostly, the books that we received as donations are children's books and young adults books," BBW brand manager Ervin Liew said during the Ispeak media forum on Thursady, November 29, adding that the books will be given directly to children aging four to 15 years old.

The area is the program of BBW which aims to help provide accessible reading for all by allowing shoppers to purchase and donate books for Gawad Kalinga (GK) communities.

The BBW in partnership with GK committed to donate 1,000 books to communities in Davao and other areas in Mindanao.

"We just want for books to be made affordable and available to everyone," Liew said, adding that the BBW is committed to a vision of changing the world one book at a time.

The BBW, which is open 24 hours daily starting last November 23, brought over around one million books in the city at 50-90 percent discounts.

Davao is the third city in the Philippines that BBW has visited. (LHC)
