‘Three Words to Forever’ to boost Ormoc tourism

ACTOR turned Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez remained confident that the movie “Three Words to Forever” will bring more visitors to the city.

Shot in Ormoc City in October, the family-themed movie is starred by Gomez himself, megastar Sharon Cuneta and phenomenal box-office star Kathryn Bernardo.

“We’re happy that we’re not paying anything yet Star Cinema came to the city to shoot the movie and help our tourism,” said Gomez.

According to the mayor, some local government units in the country have to spend money for them to appear in the movies.

He said that Ormoc received “good reviews” from fellow artists during their stay in the city.

During their shoot, Cuneta herself praised the leadership of Gomez despite of being in his first term in the office, saying that the mayor “has done a fantastic job here in Ormoc, I’m still speechless up to now.”

“What we’re doing is for the good of the city. And we’ll continue to do our best,” said Gomez while urging his constituents to “do our share” in pushing the city’s tourism agenda.

Ormoc, with its famed Piña Festival in June, received 297,338 visitors in 2017.

In the second quarter of 2018 alone, the city already had 144,338 tourists.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, “Three Words to Forever” premiered on November 27.

Meanwhile, Gomez hoped that their new movie with Bernardo will surpass the country’s top-earning movie “The Hows of Us” of Bernardo and Daniel Padilla which earned over P800 million already since its release in August 2018.

In 2015, Gomez's movie with Dawn Zulueta entitled “The Love Affair” also became the country's second top-earning film after it broke the P300 million mark.
