Negros Occidental Capitol to implement projects early in 2019

NEGROS Occidental Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado said that departments and offices of the Provincial Government are gearing up to get the Seal of Good Local Governance.

They will also start the implementation of projects and programs early January 2019.

“Members of the local finance committee of the Provincial Government has long complained of the slow implementation of projects. This resulted in the non-qualification of the province in the Seal of Good Local Governance this year,” Salado said.

He said department heads agreed that effective in November, funds will be released already because, in December, Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. will start signing the project proposals.

“By January next year, we will start the processing the vouchers and requests,” Salado said.

He said the Provincial Government will try to follow what is being done in the National Government where they implement projects in January.

“The frontline departments has the obligation and responsibility to hasten the processing of their requests. The bidding process should be a part of their planning for their needs and project implementation,” he added. (TDE)
