SITG Light House formed to track down bizman's killer

POLICE formed the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) “Light House” to track down the killer of business man Dominic Sytin, president and founder of United Auctioneers.

Chief Superintendent Joel Coronel, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon acting director, said that right after the shooting incident, he immediately ordered the Olongapo City police to create a task force to identify and arrest the killer of Sytin.

Coronel said Sytin together with his bodyguard, Efren Espartero were in front of Light House hotel along Waterfront Road in Subic Bay Freeport, Wednesday night, November 30.

He said that Sytin was about to enter the said hotel when he was shot several times by a gunman who reportedly waited for two hours for the victim.

Coronel said the victim suffered gunshot wounds in his back and head and died on the spot.

The victim’s bodyguard immediately retaliated but he was also shot by the suspect hitting him in his right arm and torso, said Coronel.

The suspect fled on board a black Mio motorcycle towards the SBMA Kalaklan Gate, he said.

“I have ordered an in-depth investigation in the killing of Sytin,” Coronel said.

“As of now are looking into all angles to establish possible motives and we are exerting all means to get into the bottom of this shooting incident,” he said.

Coronel said SITG Light House is in the process of gathering pieces of evidence that will lead to identification of the killer.

At the same time, Coronel assured the public as well as the victim’s family of their total commitment to ensure the early resolution of the case.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Sytin and we continue to solicit public support. If you have any information that will lead to the quick resolution of this case, do not hesitate to come forward and please report to the nearest police station or through PNP Hotline 09998838327/09176235700,” Coronel said.
