OVER 500 members of the militant groups in Negros Occidental called on the government to address problems on land reform and killings through a protest held on Andres Bonifacio Day in Bacolod City Friday, November 30.

While holding placards and tarpaulins, the protesters marched from different areas in Bacolod City and simultaneously conducted short programs at the Fountain of Justice and Bacolod Welcome Marker.

The groups continue to seek justice for the death of nine farmers who were brutally massacred in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on October 20.

They also seek justice for the killing of human rights lawyer Benjamin Ramos Jr., who was murdered by two unidentified armed men in Kabankalan City on November 6.

The groups also called on the government to address the alleged militarization in the country, the wage of small workers and teachers, and contractualization.

They are also asking the government to look into the issue of genuine land reform, particularly in Negros Occidental.
