Pampanga village chiefs told: Strengthen Badac

PAMPANGA Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Nicholas Salvador has urged village chiefs from District 2 to maintain the functionality of their respective Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Badac).

This was in line with the top priority of President Rodrigo Duterte, which is strictly and fully supported by the Provincial Government of Pampanga under the leadership of Governor Lilia Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda.

Salvador urged the villages to start the efforts from the grassroots level, to clear the villages in the province from drugs.

He bared this in the recently Pampanga District 2 Peace and Order Council and Badac Consultative Meeting for the Integrated Management of Persons Who Use Drugs held in Lubao town.

Salvador said the Capitol, Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have tight coordination in executing their roles.

“You know your barangays batter so let us work harder together to eradicate illegal,” he added.

Salvador also cited the importance of Badac.

“Your Badac should be functional and have plans and regular meetings. It should always be active,” he furthered.

Meanwhile, the lady governor asked the Badacs to work harder. They should be targeting more drug-free villages before the year ends.

This shared responsibility, according to Third District Board Member Rosve Henson, must be utilized in their respective areas.

The governor is willing to give reward to barangays if they will be cleared before 2018 ends.

Salvador reiterated that if village chiefs are not really doing their job, he will ask the Department of the Interior and Local Government's help in reaching out to them.

Also present during the meeting were local chief executives and Police Chief Inspectors of District 2, Board Member Gabby Mutuc, Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office head Angie Blanco, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office head Elizabeth Baybayan, Provincial Health Office head Dr. Mar Jaochico, Dr. Imelda Labrador, Pdea, PNP, and Department of Interior and Local Government staff, among others.
