Ex-mayor vows more aid for Floridablanca scholars

FORMER Mayor Eddie Guerrero vowed more financial assistance for scholars of Floridablanca town on Friday, November 30, after observing a lack in would-be scholars and support programs for them.

Guerrero said that he will bring back more funding for indigent but deserving students as well as support programs for those studying in far-flung towns and cities.

“It will be more like the time when scholars enjoy more government support,” Guerrero said, adding that aside from his plan to put up a community college, he is also looking at the possibility of purchasing a bus or at least provide transportation allowance for scholars.

The former mayor said that there are many young people from the town who study in schools like the Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University which is at least three towns away from Floridablanca.

“Our town is at the fringe of Pampanga. We need more assistance programs for our young people to better help them get the education they deserve,” Guerrero said.
