AFTER four years of hard work and sacrifices, the Tchoukball Association of the Philippines (TAP) finally got the nod as one of the country’s newly recognized National Sports Association (NSA) under the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

TAP, during the recent POC general assembly held in Pasig City, joined three other NSAs as new members of the POC.

The other three are World Sikaran Brotherhood of the Philippines, Philippine Floorball Association, and the United Philippine Surfing Association.

For TAP president Raymund Jamelo, it comes with great honor to be recognized by the country’s highest sports body – the POC.

“We, in TAP, considered this as God's gift to our leaders and young athletes. Being now a member of the POC family, we can be assured of its full support in terms of growing tchoukball all over the country and develop athletes that can bring honor to our homeland,” he said.

Jamelo added he sees tchoukball as a key that will open doors of opportunities in achieving our vision and mission.

“POC recognition gives us the confidence to push for our projects knowing they believed on TAP's core values. POC is a ‘big brother’ to us,” he added.

This coming Palarong Panlalawigan, Jamelo said they are expecting to bring tchoukball as one of the demonstrations sports.

“We are looking forward to present the sport in the upcoming Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet in Capiz and Palarong Pambansa in Davao in 2019,” he stressed.
