2 fall in Zamboanga anti-drug operation

TWO people were arrested while some P20,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police said Monday, December 3.

Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Jeanpaul Elnar, 28 and Nikko Calingcoy, 26.

Chang said the suspects were arrested in a drug bust at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, December 2, in Cabato Lane along Governor Camins Avenue in Canelar village, this city.

The police official said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu (methampethamine hydrochloride) in exchange for P500 to an undercover policeman.

The arresting team recovered from the suspects’ possessions suspected shabu worth P20, 000 packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets, and P500 marked money, she added.

Chang said the suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be field against them. (SunStar Philippines)
