THE City Government of Mabalacat has received P5.1 million representing the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The funds, which serve as incentives, were awarded after the city government was awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
City Administrator Rosano Paquia, who represented Mayor Crisostomo Garbo during the awarding ceremony at Subic Bay Freeort recently, personally received the check from DILG officials led by DILG Central Luzon Director Julie J. Daquioag.
The PCF with the LGU counterpart may be used as subsidy for big projects, counterpart funds for foreign-assisted projects, co-financing for joint projects with other LGUs, and counterpart for projects in partnership with the private sector to establish economic development.
Paquia said the funds will be used in various projects such as the purchase of disaster response equipment.
The city administrator said the local government is set to receive another award from the Department of Trade and Industry on December 7.
He added that the LGU ranked 10th on infrastructure and was named most improved in the 2018 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index of the DTI.
"We want our people to know that the city government, under the leadership of our beloved mayor, is doing its best to implement projects for the benefit of all Mabalaquenos," Paquia said.
