FRENCH non-profit organization Passerelles Numériques (PN) Philippines is calling for aspiring scholars to fill its information technology (IT) scholarship slots.
Students under 21 years old who are interested in IT and are K-12 graduates are encouraged to apply. They should also come from an underprivileged family.
PN Philippines is an organization that provides IT scholarship to economically underprivileged youth in the country. The organization has been selecting its scholars annually from the Visayas region since 2009.
“We are currently visiting different secondary schools in Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Samar and Leyte to invite graduating students to apply to our program. We are looking at selecting 60 to 90 scholars for the next school year,” PN Philippines selection manager Irish Bulan said.
Aside from technical IT training, the scholarship program includes professional life training, personal and social follow-up, and guidance to employment program. On top of these, food and accommodation, along with medical assistance, are provided for the duration of the two-and-a-half-year scholarship program.
PN Philippines aims to contribute to the poverty reduction of the country in a sustainable way by giving Filipino youth better employment opportunities through education. In collaboration with University of San Carlos, the organization has already produced 402 successful graduates since its establishment.
