Task Force nabs 92 for illegal drugs

A TOTAL of 92 drug personalities have been apprehended by the Task Force Davao (TFD) and seized an estimated P3.1 million worth of illegal drugs during the conduct of checkpoint operation in different areas in Davao City since January.

TFD commander Colonel Nolasco Mempin told SunStar Davao on Tuesday that due to their intensified operation, they arrested several individuals, who are carrying illegal drugs, passing through the checkpoints going to Davao City.

For shabu, a total of 113.60 grams (g) with an estimated amount of P1,511,500 were recovered with 73 individuals apprehended while for marijuana, they yielded 14.455.32 kilograms (kg) with an estimated amount P1,682,023, and 19 individuals were apprehended.

“Martial law complement our stringent security measures against all threats- terrorism, criminality and illegal drugs,” he said.

On Tuesday, December 4, a squad of Task Group Lawin conducted a checkpoint operations at Cargo Inspection Area at Sitio Licanan, Barangay Lasang, Bunawan District, Davao City wherein they apprehended a certain Felix Metia Lagutin, 36, married, a resident of Purok Ipil-ipil Visayan Village, Tagum City, Davao Del Norte.

Intercepted from his possession was one piece small rectangular heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu” weighing more or less 0.5 gram with an estimated street value of P7,500.
