ACCREDITED vendors can start selling firecrackers and fireworks at the designated area in the South Road Properties (SRP) on December 15.
Councilor Dave Tumulak said the area in the SRP is the only designated place in Cebu City where selling of firecrackers will be allowed.
There will be 20 stalls where the public can buy different kinds of firecrackers.
The designated area for firecracker vendors is located on a vacant lot near the bridge along the boundary of Cebu City and Talisay City, where the U-turn slot of the Cebu South Costal Road is located.
The City Government has allowed the firecracker vendors to use the area in the SRP for free.
Tumulak warned those who will be selling firecrackers outside the designated area that law enforcers or even the barangay tanods will confiscate their products.
“If they want to sell, they must comply with all the permits needed, just like what the 20 vendors did,” he said.
Tumulak also urged the public not to buy firecrackers from illegitimate manufacturers for their safety.
Selling of firecrackers in the SRP will only be allowed until December 31. (RVC/SunStar Cebu)
