A BARANGAY official from Compostela Valley was arrested on Thursday, December 6 after selling drugs to a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent.
Victoriano Villondo Duria Jr., 45, is the Barangay Kagawad of Kilagding, Laak, Compostela Valley and the number eight in the drug target list of Davao Region.
Duria was arrested in a joint operation of the PDEA Davao Region, Compostela Valley Police Provincial Office Intelligence Branch, and Laak Municipal Police Station on December 5 at Purok 7, Barangay Banbanon, Laak, in the said province.
He was arrested after selling one medium transparent plastic sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu weighing more or less five grams with an estimated amount of P50,000 to an undercover PDEA agent who was the poseur buyer.
Another one small transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less two grams and a marked money and boodle money were also recovered during the operation.
Duria is now detained at the PDEA Davao Region’s detention facility while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted for laboratory examination.
Duria is facing cases for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
Should he be found guilty of his illegal activities, Duria will face perpetual disqualification from public office as stated in Article II, Section 28 (Criminal Liability of Government Officials and Employees) of Republic Act 9165.
