Tchoukball takes center stage as demo sports in prov’l meet

SIX teams from various schools in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental are expected to converge at City Heights Athletic Association (CHAC) covered court on December 17, 2018 to take part to this year’s Palarong Panlalawigan as non-medal demonstration sports.

Among the teams seeing action are the Cansilayan National High School of Murcia, Christian Academy of Bacolod, University of St. La Salle Liceo, Livingstone International School, Sum-ag National High School, and Shiloh Christian School.

Tchoukball Association of the Philippines president Raymund Jamelo said that the NSA committed to cover the cost of expenses on logistics, equipment and technical requirements of this event.

Jamelo described TAP, a duly recognized member of the Philippine Olympic Committee, to have been introduced to the country in 2010 and now being played in many parts of the country through schools and communities.

“TAP continues to develop the sports nationally because it emphasizes values such as respect, fair play and teamwork – helping in the building of a harmonious society,” he said.

“We would also like to introduce tchoukball as an alternative sport in the province,” Jamelo added. (HGD)
