Damosa Land Inc. (DLI) adds another tower within Damosa IT Park to encourage more business locators to invest and expand business operations in Davao City.

DLI vice president Ricardo Lagdameo said in an interview during the groundbreaking ceremony Friday, December 7, that the Diamond Tower, the newest building facility in Damosa IT Park - a Philippine Economic Zone Authority-accredited facility- will help in generating more employment for Dabawenyos.

The 15-storey Diamond Tower with a land size of 2,200 square meters (sqm) and a building floor plate of around 1,800 sqm is set to provide corporate spaces for different commercial industries.

Lagdameo said the company is eyeing on a 50/50 split of industries who will be occupying Diamond Tower.

“What we are targeting is similar to the profile of Damosa IT Park where we don’t have a 100 percent BPO company occupying the park. I would say that 50 percent are BPO industries and another 50 for corporate offices such as accounting offices, shared-services offices, shipping lines, and agricultural companies,” he said.

“It’s a good criss-cross of different industries,” Lagdameo added.

As for the number of office tenants who will be occupying the tower, Lagdameo has not confirmed the details yet, though some companies have already inquired about the office space.

In previous reports, Lagdameo said DLI is expecting some of their business locators to occupy Diamond Tower for expansion.

At present, the current locators at the Damosa IT Park are global office space provider Regus, business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Concentrix, and various information technology companies.

Meanwhile, each floor at the Diamond Tower is estimated at 1,600 sqm. The building facility will also have sophisticated technologies like solar panels, and five high-speed elevators to operate in the building. Diamond Tower will also have a roof-deck amenity which includes a restaurant, and green space area to match the sea view of the Davao Gulf.
