“WE BELIEVE that films, short or long, have a great impact in the culture, education, enterprise and socio-economic status of the country.

It seems however that the majority of Filipinos support foreign rather than local films, especially independent/indie films.

Therefore, this “Film Making Seminar” was organized by the CCSSI to inspire and to show the current and aspiring local film makers that Filipino film makers are indeed winners and are globally acclaimed”.

The “Cordillera Center for Sustainable Solutions Inc.” (CCSSI), a social enterprise organization dedicated to the implementation of holistic community-driven development programs and people empowerment will be hosting a film-making seminar this December 17, from 4 PM to 11 PM at the Opal Hall, Hotel Supreme.

Experts in the field, Dexter Macaraeg, an Abrenian, actor/director, who started making short films in 2016, a National and International awardee (International Film Fest Manhattan 2018), will talk on “How to be a Successful Filmmaker”; and Luis Liwanag, who will talk on “Shooting Stories with Impact.”

Liwanag is a prominent and respected photo/video journalist in the country whose works were published in distinguished international papers.

Also worth mentioning is a recent co-directed short film “Duterte’s Hell” which has won him a first prize in the World Press Photo Digital Storytelling Contest Short Form Category.

The very first screening of “Tata Pilo,” a documentary film on National Heritage by Dexter Macaraeg will also take place.

Actors in this film, Raymond Rinoza and John Remel Flotildes will grace this special occasion.

Adding to the excitement is a Cordilleran Couture Fashion Show of local designers (Glory Payangdo, Jerome Bagni and Andrew Visaya Jr.).

Featured Models are Team Lakay, Kim Basali (Mutya ng Pilipinas Northern Luzon 2018), Roxanne Bastian (Ms. Benguet 2017), Weyndelruth Wasit (Ms. Summer Capital 2018), Keanu Fernando (Man of the World Philippines 2018), Dexter Cawaing (Mr. Kabayan 2018 and 3rd Runner-up Mr. Benguet 2018), and the Scintilla Models.
