SLU wins in three allied sports

SAINT Louis University continue to turn things around in season 32 of the Baguio – Benguet Educational Athletic League scooping three first place finishes in allied sports.

After surprising the field in men’s basketball with a decent first runner – up finish in the premiere tournament of North Luzon’s largest collegiate league, SLU starts strong in the first phase of the competition.

The Navigators took home the title in men’s table tennis edging University of Baguio and University of the Cordilleras who settled for second and third place while Philippine Military Academy salvaged fourth place.

UB Cardinals meanwhile nailed the title in women’s table tennis beating SLU as Benguet State University and UC finished third and fourth respectively.

SLU continue their onslaught in men’s and women’s badminton securing the both titles as UB and PMA took home the second and third place honors in both the men and women’s division.

In sepak takraw, the UC Jaguars made it to the top after disposing their rivals with BSU finishing second and SLU completing the top three.

Earlier, SLU earned five gold medals en route to bagging the over - all title in the wushu - taulo competition of the BBEAL.

Alieson Ken Omengan and Marissa Camut scored two gold medals each to lead the Navigators charge as the school also took home one silver and three bronze medals in the tournament.

Omengan snatched the gold medal in the 3rd set nanquan male and 2nd set nandaoa and nangun male while Camut took home the top mint in the 2nd set nandao and nangun female and 3rd set nanquan female. (Roderick Osis)
