Hampangan opens in Hinigaran

THE world-class playground of the Super Lucky Beagler Inc. (SLBI) has opened in time for Christmas for the children of Hinigaran City on Wednesday, December 5.

Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo welcomed the project during a simple program with Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager for Negros Occidental Manuel Villagracia and SLBI president Jexter Mercado.

Hampangan, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project of SLBI in partnership with the PCSO, is located within the public plaza of Hinigaran.

It features various environmental friendly and safe play equipment, a colorful castle, an elephant covered with floral art, and a section for Filipino games and a story-telling area.

SLBI is a private amusement and recreation company based in Silay City and an authorized agent corporation of Small Town Lottery in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

It started CSR projects in the province in 2010, building its first Hampangan at the Silay City public plaza.

Since then, it has reached more than 2,500 children with its traveling playground project visiting public schools in the hinterlands, public hospitals, and orphanages.

Led by the Hampangan mascot, Lucky, the Beagle, the project has brought joy and delight as the children are entertained with games, stories, and even snacks.

Partnering with PCSO, both government and non-government entities, SLBI has also donated much-needed medical equipment to public hospitals; provided technical-vocational training to indigents for livelihood skills, and also facilitated construction of classrooms for kindergarten pupils in an upland barangay in southern Negros Occidental.
