P265,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Negros Occidental

OVER P265,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental from December 5 to 9.

In Bacolod City, Robert Yusay Jr., Catherine Padigus, Henry Cañete, and two minors were arrested in Barangay Mansilingan on Sunday, December 9. The police recovered 10 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” amounting to P120,000, two improvised tooters, coin pouch, and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested in La Carlota City on Sunday was a call center agent Kryzanard Chaim Ravanes, 23. The police recovered from him two sachets of suspected shabu worth P26,000 and the P500 marked money.

On December 8, Jaypee Jalmero, 28, of Barangay Concepcion, Talisay City was arrested in the said village after police seized from him five sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, coin purse, and cellular phone. He is a street-level target and a newly identified drug personality by Talisay City Police Station.

Arrested on the same day in La Carlota City was Giovanni Paloma, 34, which resulted in the recovery of two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,000, lighter, motorcycle, and the P500 marked money.

In Bacolod City, Cedrick Alisbo was also arrested on Saturday, in a drug bust in Barangay 16. Police recovered from him two sachets of suspected shabu and P200 in cash.

On December 7, Mike Agramon, 21, of Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City was arrested for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. The police seized from him six sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,000, and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested in Sagay City last Friday was Wilmer Pasigna, 35, after he allegedly yielded six sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500, the P500 marked money, and P380 in cash.

On December 6, Jesse Dela Paz, 30, of Barangay 2 was arrested in Silay City after allegedly engaging in illegal drugs. The police recovered from him five grams of suspected shabu worth P60,000, the P4,500 marked money, and P4,000 boodle money.

On December 5, Michael Canonoy, 26, of Barangay 5, San Carlos City was arrested in the said village, which resulted to the confiscation of 19 sachets of suspected shabu worth P48,000, drug paraphernalia, a .22 magnum revolver loaded with live ammunition, five live ammunition of the said firearm, the P1,000 in cash, and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested on the same day were Julyreza Corbeta, 26, of Barangay 5, and Ronald Madelo, 26, which resulted to the recovery of less than .05 gram of illegal drugs worth P600 and suspected marijuana worth P4.80, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.(With reports from Christopher D.
