NGOs host gift-giving for Masantol residents

THE Rotary Club of Central Pampanga (RCCP), Mirai ni Kibou and University of the Assumption Campus Ministry led volunteers in a Christmas gift-giving in Masantol town.

The annual gift-giving, dubbed as “Pamascung Pamagdaque Saya” was held for Tarik Soliman and other coastal barangays of Masantol. The event featured games and distribution of bags, gift packs and food stuffs.

The groups contributed resources to put up the Christmas packages, gifts and money that were distributed to the school children. The said barangay is a perennial beneficiary of the club's annual medical and dental missions, supplemental feeding and deworming missions in cooperation with the Mirai Ni Kibou Foundation and other partners.

The community has been a regular recipient of RCCP led initiatives. In 2013, the Mirai Ni Kibou Foundation and Rotary Club of Ashikaga East of Rotary International District 2550 based in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan led a series of social service missions here benefiting communities around Tarik Suliman Integrated School in Barangay Sagrada Familia.

RCCP and its partner volunteers have also been planting mangroves and nipa in Masantol each year to help in the livelihood of local fishermen.
