P42-M Masantol school buildings inaugurated

MASANTOL -- Students of Masantol Senior National High School (MSNHS) may now utilize the three newly-constructed school buildings after its official inauguration and turnover Friday afternoon, December 7.

Fourth district Representative Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc and Mayor Danilo Guintu led the blessing and turnover of the two-storey, six classrooms building to the officials of MSNHS located in Barangay San Nicolas here.

The construction of the buildings amounted to P14 million each excluding the cost of equipment for the classrooms, computer rooms, cooking rooms for the students’ utilization, Bondoc disclosed.

MSNHS principal Elmer Meneses said the construction of said school buildings provided a decent learning facility for senior high school students who were formerly using the old classrooms of the Masantol Central Elementary School.

“These buildings will surely boost the morale of the students and the whole school community, and most importantly, students now have a place that is truly conducive for learning,” Meneses said.

In his speech, Bondoc urged students to study harder and maximize the opportunity and the privileges offered by the government through public education and the support of their families to complete their education.

“Although education is a basic rights, there are still children who cannot afford to come to school due to poverty and you are fortunate because you are here. Some of you are supported by your parents financially, while most of you receives scholarship grants from the government but either way, you are here to study so study harder,” he said.

Guintu, for his part, gave his salute to the parents and teachers for ‘selflessly’ performing their duties as support system of the children and for their huge contribution in the country’s education system.

“We cannot quantify your sacrifices as parents and second parents, the teachers, of the students. We cannot gratify you enough for that but we hope that you will continue to your selfless love for the children because they are our future,” he said.

The new school buildings will accommodate almost 400 senior high school students hailing from different barangays in this coastal town.
