University confers ‘honoris causa’ to Pampanga Guv

THE Don Honorio Ventura Technical State University (DHVTSU) conferred Governor Lilia Pineda the Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) degree Monday, December 10, at the school auditorium.

DHVTSU board of regents, under the leadership of its president Enrique Baking, led the conferment of honorary degree diploma to Pineda in ceremonial rites witnessed by Commission on Higher Education (Ched) Commissioner Prospero Adamat, and Central Luzon regional director Caridad Abuan.

Through Honoris Causa, DHVTSU recognized Pineda’s “three decades laudable career in public service as an exemplary civic leader and experienced public servant.”

“With your benevolence, you (Pineda) have unceasingly widened your involvement in being of service to Kapampangan and to the communities where they reside and work, ensuring that they, too, thrive and prosper,” Baking read in the citation.

The university also cited the leadership of Pineda’s administration which revolutionized the quality of public service in the sector of health, employment, and social services which helped in uplifting the lives of Kapampangan.

The DHVTSU lauded Pineda’s "relentless support in public education and activie involvement on the lives of students, especially Honorians, made visible through programs and projects, such as sponsoring them free access to education and providing a conducive learning environments.”

“Your maternalistic response to the needs and demands of people has made them look up to you as their ‘nanay’. The university applauds your dedication to provide the people of Pampanga with an administration of excellence which permeates compassion and good governance,” the citation further read.

Pineda expressed her deepest gratitude to DHVTSU community for appreciating her hard work which are results of dedicating half of her life in serving her fellow Kapampangans.

“I cannot put into words how to thank DHVTSU community, and the Ched for giving me this gift. I dedicate this to my family, to my kids who have long been understanding and supporting me in my dedication to serve my kabalens,” Pineda said.

“Above anything, I wanted to thank everybody for appreciating me and my contributions to the community. This recognition gives me another strength to continue becoming ‘nanay’ to all Kapampangans despite all negative issues hurled at me and my family,” she added.
