THE local government unit of Barangay Mintal denied any involvement in the recent concert of Kiray Celis, who posted on her Instagram (IG) account that the producer of her show in the said village failed to compensate her and her team.
“We have nothing to do or no participation in any way to the concert or event held last December 8 at the Mintal Gymnasium featuring Kiray Celis and Kirst Viray,” Barangay Mintal posted on their Facebook account Monday, December 10.
The LGU said the event was organized by the Pag-asa Rescue 110 and Foundation – Mintal.
Mintal Barangay Captain Ramon M. Bargamento II said in a phone interview with SunStar Davao Monday that the organizer and producer of the show, Ronald Brigoli and Roger Sayson, merely asked the barangay to be allowed to use the gymnasium as the venue of the event.
“Barato ra gani ang among hatag ato sa ila kay lagi para man fundraising (We even let them pay an amount that is lower than usual since it is for fundraising purposes),” he said, adding that the only contribution of the barangay as agreed by both party was to provide security.
However, Bargamento said that he found out that their security team assigned at the time was not even allowed to enter the premises and there were also cigarette butts found after the event when the establishment is a non-smoking area.
“I was not happy about it because I found out that they did not allow our barangay tanod and responders. And there was a battle of the band, I found out that there are people smoking at the backstage,” he said.
Bargamento said that he was not able to talk with the organizers after the incident and that he is still waiting for them to contact him as he knew these people, since they are just residents of his barangay.
Celis IG post last Sunday, December 9, read “silaw na silaw si ate girl sa stress sa producer ng Mintal Davao show ko. Andyan po ako kagabi. Nakarating po ako. Di po sila tumupad sa usapan”.
She added, “sobrang bastos nila. Lalo na sa pagkakakilala sa amin na producer na si Ronald Brigoli na si Aldong daw. Di binayaran pati host ng event”.
