Formerly known as BSU Orchidarium and Ornamental Plant Growers Cooperative, LTO MPC is now a major tourist destination in the strawberry farm area of the valley. Its members offer a wide variety of flowers and potted plants good for house decors and cultivation.

The cooperative transferred its stalls at the strawberry farms parking area of Benguet State University with its main office situated just a few meters away from the entrance of the famed farm.

Common to the sector, the cooperative has diverse members that include entrepreneurs, senior citizens, government employees and farmers that are engaged in the cultivation of cut flowers and other ornamental flowers. The members enjoy the benefits of the major business activities of the co-opĆ³lending and consumer services. The consumer store supplies the members with their agricultural needs that include seedling bags, plastic flower pots, flower foams, compost and other garden inputs. Loans are also provided to capitalize or sustain the ornamental plants production of members.

The co-op plays a vital role in the development of cut flower and potted plants enterprise in the locality as evidenced by its foregoing activities. The accomplishments of the group have accumulated them a total asset of more than 18 million last year.

The cooperative aims to encourage thrift and savings mobilization among members for capital formation in order to grant loans to productive members. Also, the co-op envisions to promote the cooperative as a way of life for improving the social and economic well-being of the people, and to work with the cooperative movement, government and other organizations in the promotion and development of the sector in carrying out policies.

True to its objective, LTO MPC forged a partnership with the local government unit of the capital town in helping beautify the environment of the municipal hall. The co-op pledged to adopt one area in the municipal grounds and maintain its landscape using a part of its community development fund.

The same with other cooperatives, LTO MPC upholds to undertake other activities for the effective and efficient implementation of the provision of the cooperative code and other essential service requirements of the members.

The best practices and good governance of the members and officers earned the co-op an award as one of the top performing cooperatives in the municipality and the whole of Cordillera.
