‘Christmas Ed Kapangan’ slated Dec. 15 to 16

THE municipality of Kapangan in Benguet will be celebrating its 10th annual Christmas event known as the “Christmas Ed Kapangan” on December 15 to 16.

In time for the Yuletide season, Mayor Manny Fermin invited tourists and officials of Benguet to attend a peaceful yuletide celebration.

“This is a yearly major event that forms part of the municipality’s bid in the promotion of tourism,” Fermin added.

With most folks busy during the Christmas, the local government unit has decided to take the opportunity to hold the event early.

A tour package is being sponsored by the municipality as a pre-Christmas celebration, which includes camping activities inclusive of transportation with lodging, meals, tour guide fees, and souvenirs, among others.

The annual event aims to showcase the tradition and culture of the municipality.

The yearly organized tourism activity of the municipality this year will feature a hike to Badi Falls and a cultural night comprised of Tayaw ya sadong (cultural dance), Binubudan Making and Tapuey (wine) making.

Events on the following day include sightseeing at Obellan-Catampan Rice Terraces and caving at Longog cave found in the foot of Mt. Dakiwagan where a set viewing of Amburayan River which also serves as primary water supply to many of the agricultural sites in the town.
