THE Diamonds batters slammed the Navy Destroyers, 8-1, in the Hinapakay sa Talamban Unity Cup Softball Championships 2018 at the M.Lhuillier Farm in Tugbao, Talamban, Cebu City on Sunday, Dec. 9.
The Diamonds were quick to assert their mastery by scoring four points in the first inning before ending the game in regulation after five innings.
The Diamonds took the solo lead in the standing with a 6-3 (win-loss) record, while the Destroyers are still looking for its first win this season and fell at the bottom of the standings with a 0-8 card.
In the other game, the Peacekeepers found its rhythm on the latter part of the game to pull off a stunner over the Taters, 8-5. The Peacekeepers scored five points in the sixth inning to turn the two-point deficit to a win.
The Taters made its presence felt early with three points in the second inning and adding another two in the third and fourth innings. But they failed to score in the fifth to seventh innings.
The Peacekeepers evened their record to a 4-4 slate while the Taters dropped to a 5-3 card.
The Pythons scored a clinical 7-0 win over the Primos. The Pythons improved to 5-3 card while Primos fell to 4-4 card. (RSC)
