5 drug suspects nabbed in NegOcc

FIVE persons, who were allegedly engaging in the illegal drug trade, were arrested in separate drug bust operations in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Bacolod City, Jerrymiah Malanday, 20, of Barangay Banago was collared in the said village on Wednesday, December 12, after police seized from him seven sachets of suspected, methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” a pair of scissors, and a lighter. He is detained at Police Station 3.

In Calatrava town, Garret Ian Lumanog, 32, of Barangay Bantayanon was arrested in Barangay Look on Tuesday, December 11, after he allegedly yielded a sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,200, and the P500 marked money.

Lumanog is a street-level target and a drug surrenderer under the drugs watchlist of Calatrava Municipal Police Station.

In E.B. Magalona town, Ryan Suarez, 36, of Barangay Mantaangan was arrested on Tuesday in the said village, which resulted to the recovery of three sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500, and the P500 marked money.

Suarez is a drug surrenderer and a high-value target.

In San Carlos City, Mary Jane Setenta, 28, of Barangay 3 was arrested for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs in Barangay 5 two days ago.

Police confiscated from her possession three sachets of suspected shabu, coin purse, cellular phone, P500 in cash, and the P500 marked money.

In Kabankalan City, Rogie Tia, 41, of Barangay 9 was arrested in the said barangay on Tuesday after police recovered from him six sachets of suspected shabu worth P10,000, drug paraphernalia, the P100 marked money, and P1,032 in cash. He is a street-level target. (GYM)
