SUPPORT for Angkas drivers continue to pour in and it is evident with how one netizen's post went viral when he shared about how his Angkas ride was about to be apprehended by road officials in Cebu City, Thursday December 13, a day after a Supreme Court ruling suspends Angkas' operation anew.

A Facebook user, who requested anonymity narrated in a post on December 13, Thursday, that he rode an Angkas on his way to school.

Last Wednesday, the Supreme Court issued a restraining order to suspend the ride-hailing app's operations.

"While passing by Jones Ave., a Land Transportation Office official together with a CITOM official approached us and told us to stop and apprehended the driver. I immediately informed the two officials that the driver is my cousin and he’s just about to drive me to school," he stated.

Both him and the Angkas driver heaved a sigh of relief after the traffic officals bought their excuse.

He said that instead of paying P70, which was the cost for his ride, he gave the driver P150 and thank the driver for a safe ride.

"He replied sincerely with his both eyes almost teary, “Salamat kaayo, sir.

Salamat pud kaayo sa imong gibuhat ganiha. Amping pirmi sir og Merry Christmas!," his post read.

He called for the return of Angkas especially because Christmas is near.

"Mura gyug gi kumot akong kasing-kasing ganiha nag tanaw sa nawng sa driver, hapit na pasko pero gi tang-tangan sila og panginabuhi," he said.

As of 5:40 p.m., the post garnered 2, 500 reactions, 340 comments and 982 shares.
